Things To Do This Holiday Season

The holiday season can be stressful, so it’s important to take time and appreciate this festive time of year! Fredericton has many things that are sure to help brighten your December. Here are a few activities to do to get you in the holiday spirit!

Go Ice Skating

There are many places you can go skating, and public rinks for everyone to use. It’s a great way to connect with friends and, by keeping your distance and keeping your mask on, its Covid-19 safe. Though Officer Square will not be open this season, there are other options, like Willie O’Ree, which is constantly holding free/public skate times open to anyone and everyone.

Look At Christmas Lights

Every year, there are always those people that go all out with their lights for Christmas. Some places even sync their lights to follow the beat of songs from a radio station. The Lincoln Lights Show, St. Mary’s Festival of Lights, and Pine Grove Festival of Lights are just a few places with incredible displays. Each place has a unique way of showing off their lights and it is such a fun thing to do. Drinking some hot chocolate, while driving around, looking at lights is a wonderful way to get in the holiday spirit.

Donate to places that need help this time of year

Most places are accepting donations of food, clothes and toiletries, as well as toys and holiday dinners for families who might be struggling. You could even take the initiative and put together a box to give to someone who needs help. Feed the Lions is doing just that, gathering boxes of goods, including turkey dinners, toys for the kids, home necessities, and other things like that. They are delivering to 45 families this holiday season! Other places to donate to are Salvation Army, Transition House- Abused Women, Habitat for Humanity ReStore, and Liberty Lane.
